Glaswegians being invited to give their views on proposals to introduce a so-called tourist tax.

The Scottish Government is currently consulting on the principles of a locally determined visitor levy and holding a series of information sessions around the country, including one in Glasgow next week.

Public Finance Minister Kate Forbes said: “The Scottish Government is committed to devolving more power to local authorities as well as taking steps to safeguard the future of Scotland’s vibrant tourism industry.

“That is why we are looking for views from members of the public as well as industry on the principles of a transient visitor levy.”

The event will be held at the City of Glasgow College at 2pm on October 14.

Tickets are available online via Eventbrite.
