James McPake and his former teammate Gary Irvine have been charged in connection with an alleged disturbance at a bar in Dundee.

The Dens Park manager and Forfar Athletic player were both caught up in an alleged incident at around 11.30pm on Sunday evening at the Braes public house on Perth Road.

Officers attended and the pair were charged.

Police Scotland this morning confirmed they will both appear in court at a later date.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "Police Scotland can confirm that two men, aged 35 and 34-years-old have been charged in connection with an alleged disturbance at Braes public house on Perth Road, Dundee, on October 6.

"Both are due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court at a later date."

Both Dundee and Forfar Athletic declined to comment.
