Where are you based? (Must answer)

The East End of Glasgow.

It’s a great platform to get to most areas of the central belt and a cool part of Glasgow on the same transformative journey as Hoko.

How did you get started?

I’ve had a number of business growing up.

I found out I was due to be a father in 2016 which forced me to evaluate my future. Safe job or self-employed.

I opted for the latter, started from home and embraced the learning curve.

What is your background (eg qualifications, previous work experience etc)?

I studied architecture at the Glasgow School of Art and in Leicester.

I’ve worked across the country but have my roots in Glasgow.

What is your top tip?

Find a job you would do for free and weave it into your life.

How long has your business been running?

Since 2016

Has anyone helped you get started and how? Eg bank. Scottish Enterprise, Entrepreneurial Spark, Chamber of Commerce.

Nope

What was your first deal?

A retained consultancy service for an audio-visual consultancy.

What was your biggest mistake/or what would you do differently?

Being afraid to speak up in the early days, you have to believe in your ambition and what you’re saying.

Once you wholeheartedly fixate on your purpose you can talk to anyone and enjoy it!

Who was/is your mentor/or inspiration?

My grandfather set the standard for our family.

My father and uncle have both been a success in work and business and set the bar even higher.

I’m fortunate to have a supportive and ambitious friendship group with a diverse range of talents and skillsets which never fails to deliver useful insights.

Where do you plan your business to be in five years time?

Operating nationally, transforming the residential architecture experience.
