Mearns Primary School staff will be onsite this morning to assess the damage following a fire last night.
Footage on social media appeared to show flames bursting from the East Renfrewshire school just after 7.30pm.
Four fire crews were called to the Newton Mearns school to tackle the blaze, which has since been extinguished.
Just after 11pm last night, East Renfrewshire Council assured parents that updates would be given once more was known.
Following a fire at Mearns Primary School, education staff will be onsite again in the morning to assess any damage and updates will be posted here.

They wrote on Twitter: "Following a fire at Mearns Primary School, education staff will be onsite again in the morning to assess any damage and updates will be posted here."
Local MP Paul Masterton also posted.
He wrote: "Extremely concerned to hear about the fire at Mearns Primary School tonight.
"Thanks to the Fire Services for attending so quickly, and can only hope the damage is minimal ahead of the first day back at school.
"For those in the immediate area make sure and stay safe."

Jackson Carlaw MSP added: "Very concerned to hear about a fire at Mearns Primary School tonight.
"Hope everybody is okay and the damage is minimal. #MearnsPrimary"
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to an incident involving an external fire and Mearns Primary School at 7.31pm yesterday evening.
"Operation control mobilised four appliances to tackle the fire.
"We are no longer in attendance."
