A new mural celebrating the life of tragic Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison has appeared in Glasgow’s Southside.

The colourful design, featuring three different renderings of Hutchison’s face in red, blue and green, has been painted on a bright yellow background in Allison Street and features the name of the ‘Tiny Changes’ charity – established in memory of the singer.

The organisation aims to educate and raise awareness of mental illness in young people.

Hutchison tragically took his own life in 2018 at the age of 36 after a long battle with depression.

Local artist Alex Coyle, who designed and painted the piece, posted a tribute to Hutchison on Instagram, writing: "Tribute to Scott Hutchison. Thought I would raise some awareness for the charity Tiny Changes set up in his name and pay homage to the legend Scott."

Earlier this year, artists including Biffy Clyro, Chvrches frontwoman Lauren Mayberry and the Twilight Sad collaborated on a cover version of the band’ Midnight Organ Fight album, with profits going towards the charity.

Singing sensation Lewis Capaldi also donated to the organisation following his headline set at TRNSMT this year by auctioning off the Chewbacca maske he donned for a dig at Oasis' Noel Gallagher for over £7,000.

The mural has appeared just days after Glasgow minister  Rev Dr Martin Fair, who lead the rollout of three mental health services by social action project Havilah in the wake of Hutchison’s death, was chosen as the next moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
