Paul Heckingbottom has been axed as Hibernian manager, The Herald understands.
The Edinburgh side have been on a terrible run of form under the 42-year-old and have only won one league match so far this season.
The club currently sits tenth in the table one point above Hearts.
Eddie May, who took charge of the side last season after Neil Lennon left the club, has been placed in temporary charge.
Former Scotland international Steven Whittaker and coach Grant Murray will act as assistants.
Hibs fans have been unhappy with Heckingbottom since their 2-1 loss to their derby rivals at Easter Road.
He has now officially been sacked after losing 5-2 to Celtic in the Betfred Cup semi-final.
