ALMOST 50 homes will be built on the site of a former B&Q near to Hogganfield Loch.
Glasgow City Council has granted permission for 49 properties to be erected on land at Cumbernauld Road.
The development will be made up of 18 cottage flats, 18 detached houses, 10 semi-detached houses and three terraced houses. There will be 52 parking spaces included in the scheme.
B&Q was demolished after its closure and the land has been cleared.
A planning report highlighted the new houses proximity to the Hogganfield Loch.
“This popular public park attracts local residents as well as visitors from all over the city and beyond, for recreational pursuits such as bird watching, walking, running and angling,” it stated.
Developers also said the plan would bring a brownfield site back into use.
