A POPULAR West End bakery has asked the city council for permission to open up a cafe.
Cottonrake Bakery wants to take over the site of 717 Great Western Road, close to its junction with Byres Road. The empty shop currently has retail use which they want to change to operate their cafe. The cafe also wants to make changes to the front of the shop.
The proposal reveals that the new cafe would include seating for around 40 people and would open from 8 am to 6 pm.
Cottonrake, who already have a cafe on Great Western Road in Kelvinbridge, also said they may apply for an alcohol licence in the future.
A decision is expected on the plans by January 3. The last date for comments is December 5.
