A person has been struck by a train in Lanarkshire sparking an emergency response.
The line between Whifflet and Coatbridge Central was closed at around 6.15pm as mercy crews attended the scene.
They later confirmed just before 6.30pm that emergency services had cleared the area and the line could re-open, however delays were to be expected.

Their website reads: "Following a person being hit by a train between Coatbridge Central and Whifflet the line has now reopened.
"Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised.
"The emergency services have declared it safe to run our trains between Coatbridge Central and Whifflet.
"Because of the length of this incident we have heavy delays and services out of position on this line of route, we are working hard to get services back on schedule.
"Disruption is expected to last until around 19:15 today."
