A Glasgow woman who vanished in Airdrie four days ago has been traced safe and well.

A major search was launched to trace Ella Marie Cairns, from Barrowfield in the east end, after her disappearance on Thursday.

Concerns were growing for her welfare after she failed to contact family and friends in days.

However officers have since confirmed she has been found safe.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Thank you very much for sharing our appeal on Ella Marie Cairns, who was reported from the Airdrie area on Thursday, November 14.

"Ella has been traced in the east-end of Glasgow and is safe and well. Thank you again."
