Three people have been treated by paramedics after a second fire in Pollokshields in just days.

Emergency crews were called to Melville Street in the south of Glasgow at around 7pm last night amid reports of a dwelling fire.

It comes just a week after a devasting blaze in the nearby Albert Drive.

That fire, on the night of Sunday, November 10, resulted in the corner block of a three-storey tenement collapsing.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed three people were treated by ambulance crews last night.

They said: “We were alerted at 6.58pm on Monday to reports of a dwelling fire at Melville Street, Pollokshields, Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene, where crews were met with a fire within a four-storey building.

“Three casualties have been handed over to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service."

Police Scotland also confirmed they were in attendance.
