LIAM Gallagher has been nominated for Specsavers Scottish Music Award.

The former Oasis frontman, who played the Hydro last Friday night, will be in the running for Best UK Artist Award at the Old Fruitmarket on November 30.

He said: “I love Scotland - it’s a beautiful country and they are beautiful people.

"They’ve always made me feel super welcome from day one, back in Oasis days and right through to today.

"It’s an honour to be nominated for Best UK Artist. If I don’t win, I still love you”.

The 47-year-old has had commercial success again in the last few years with debut solo album As You Were and follow-up Why Me? Why Not?
