GLASWEGIAN singer Michelle McManus is releasing a Christmas album with a choir.

The songstress, who grew up in Baillieston, will release the collection of festive tunes with her Soundsational choir.

Her last album was debut The Meaning of Love which was released 15 years ago in 2004 after she won Pop Idol. That album included the number one single All This Time.

Michelle, 39, said: "Delighted to announce that myself and the amazing Soundsational are releasing our Christmas album on December 1."

The 10-track album, which is available to buy or stream online, features Christmas classics such as Sleigh Ride, Silent Night, White Christmas and O Holy Night.

It comes ahead of her Christmas show at the Mitchell Theatre on December 13 to 15.

Michelle gave fans a glimpse of her vocals on the new album during a live performance of the Christmas songs at the George Square lights switch-on which took place on Sunday.

In 2017, the singer joined a supergroup made up of 10 choirs from across the UK to release a cover of Paul McCartney's We All Stand Together for charity.
