A CAMPAIGN to persuade every Scottish council to teach pupils life-saving CPR, that was backed by the Evening Times, has won another award.
British Heart Foundation Scotland’s Nation of Lifesavers was named best political campaign at the Scottish Politicians of the Year awards, which are organised by the Herald.
Glasgow was the first council to agree to teach all pupils CPR, after a pressure drive by the Evening Times and the charity.
The city has the highest number of cardiac arrests in the UK.
Only one in 12 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in Scotland.
