A YOUNG man was mugged by two men who punched and raided his car on a busy street in Glasgow's South Side.

The 20-year-old victim was approached by two thugs who punched him and threatened him with a knife. They then stole his personal belongings from his Vauxhall Astra car.

The mugging happened at around 4.45 pm near a coffee shop on Albert Avenue at the Victoria Road junction on Sunday, November 24.

The victim had injuries to his face and didn't require hospital treatment.

Detectives are, however, keen to speak to a man who intervened while the victim was being attacked.

He shouted at the suspects who are described as being of Pakistani appearance and in their late teens. One man was wearing black clothing and the other was wearing a red puffer jacket.

Constable Lauren Muir, of Govan's Community Investigation Unit, said: "This incident happened on a busy street and we're appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to contact us, particularly a man who shouted at the suspects during the attack."
