A 45-year-old woman was found dead on Govan road at 4.20am this morning. 

Her death is being treated as unexplained, but police report there are no suspicious circumstances at this time. 

The stretch of the Glasgow street had been cordoned off by police since this morning, with forensics teams seen on the scene. 

Officers were standing guard from the Govan Road TSB Bank to a block of flats further down the street. 

An evidence tent has been set up near the entrance to the flats and enquiries surrounding her death are still in progress. 

Two police vans and a police vehicle could still be seen at the cordoned-off street at 11.30am. 

A police spokesperson said: "Around 4.20am on Saturday 30 November, officers were called to a report of a woman injured in Govan Road, Glasgow. 

"Police and ambulance attended and the 45 year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. 

"Enquiries are ongoing in the local area to establish more information on her death. 

"A post mortem examination will take place in due course, however at this time the death is being treated as unexplained, however there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances at this time."
