COPS are hunting for a fire starter who set alight a BMW car while it was parked in Rutherglen.
The suspicious fire happened in the town's Brownsdale Road at around 8.30 pm last night.
Police said the white BMW 3 series was deliberately set on fire and a man, dressed in dark clothing, was seen running away from the car towards Cathcart Road.
Officers have been carrying out door-to-door inquiries and are gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area for any other sightings of the suspect.
Detective Constable Craig Jolly said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time the car was set on fire.
!In particular, if anyone has a dashcam, I would ask them to check their footage as it may have captured an image of the suspect and could provide us with additional information which could assist our inquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Cambuslang Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 3588 of 1 December 2019.
Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
