People across Glasgow woke up to little to no water this morning - and Scottish Water say it could continue throughout the day.

A fault with a valve has now been identified which is affecting the water supply in the north, west end, and southside of the city.

At the moment, the postcode areas affected are G12, G20 G23, G41, G61, G62.

They say they are receiving a 'large volume of calls' from the area, and the issue has now been resolved.

However, they do say it may take a few hours to fully recharge.

Anyone in the affected areas of Glasgow this morning with low water pressure is advised to store as much water as possible, as Scottish Water says there's a chance the supply could be lost completely.

From their online map service, they have identified the fault in the Milngavie and Bearsden area.

A statement on their website reads: "We have identified a fault with a valve on our network which caused an interruption to the water supplies for customers in several areas of Glasgow this morning.

"The issue has now been resolved and the network is starting to recover, however it may take a few hours for the system to fully recharge.

"While the supply is being restored please be aware that you may experience no water supply, low/intermittent pressure or discoloured water."
