BOBBY O'Rourke was very chuffed with what he called his 'Christmas Bonus' yesterday after he won a key to the city - and £500.

"I'm over the moon" he told The Glasgow Times. "That's what you're supposed to say, isn't' it? No wonder, they're quite right."

The 70-year-old from Renfrew came across the competition earlier in the week.

"I always look out for the comps, I like those wee things.

"They clue said it would be near a park in the area, and I knew Celtic Park would be there so it would be near enough. There were a few other people waiting there too, so we had to answer a tie-break question - how much did it cost to built the velodrome.

"I said £20million, and I was the nearest to it even though I was £100million off" he laughed.

The pensioner welcomed the £500 greatly, as he has 6 children and 8 grandchildren to buy Christmas presents for this year.

"I came into the house and said to my wife, 'I won these keys'. She said 'that's nice, but is that all you won?'

"When I told her that I had won the £500 she was also delighted.

"It will certainly help to give the kids a good Christmas and my wife was happy that she'll be getting a wee bit herself.

"She told me that she wanted to get a hamster. We have already had all sorts of animals, so I hope she's on the wind up. She's 60 so I think she's a bit on the old side to get a hamster" he laughed.

If you were one of the unlucky ones that missed out on today's Key of the City - fear not.

The Glasgow Times team will be giving away more keys to the city, from today until Saturday.

All you need to do to win your key, and the £500, is follow our clues on our social media pages - Twitter, Instagram and Facebook - and buy the paper.
