All Under One Banner (AUOB) has announced a winter independence march will take place in Glasgow this January. 

The announcement follows the results of the general election and the march is expected to take place on January 11 from 11.30am.  

Organisers stated on social media that the police has been informed of their intention to march due to "exceptional political circumstance". 

The statement reads: "We've just informed @policescotland  that we will March for Independence #AUOB on Sat 11th January at Glasgow due to exceptional Political circumstances.

"It is Urgent that we exercise our right to Self-Determination by taking to the streets of our biggest city in the New Year."

It comes after the results of the general election which saw a sweeping victory for SNP in Scotland but also a landslide majority for the Conservatives across the UK. 

On Friday, following the results of the general election, thousands turned out to a protest march in Glasgow. 

The protest titled 'Not My Prime Minister' was organised by Stand Up to Racism.

The Facebook page for the march already has 34,000 people interested and 11,000 people listed as confirmed to be attending. 

It is set to start in Kelvingrove Park and make its way to Glasgow Green in a similar route to the march which took place in May. 

That Pro-Scottish independence march saw tens of thousands of people march through the streets of Glasgow.
