A new £14million station has been launched today in Robroyston - the same day ScotRail reveals its timetable changes.
The new station is situated between Stepps and Springburn on the Edinburgh to Glasgow via Cumbernauld line, one of five lines linking Scotland’s two largest cities.
The station site is built on land that was previously home to a Robroyston station and a marshalling yard that was closed more than 50 years ago.
It's hoped the new station, which hosts 263 free parking spaces, will provide an easy commuting option for those in Robroyston and nearby Millerston.
Current plans mean there will be two trains per hour between the station and Glasgow Queen Street, with an estimated journey time of 12 minutes.
There will also be two services per hour to Edinburgh Waverley during the day - operation by ScotRail's new class 385 electric trains.
Both platforms at the station will be step-free.

It comes as rail commuters are being urged to check their journey details on their way to work this morning as the new railways timetable comes into force.
Industry groups have promised more services, shorter journeys and new routes becoming possible across the country owing to the alterations.
Major improvements are also being promised on the ScotRail network, with additional services in north-east Scotland and extra seats between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Alex Hynes, Managing Director of Scotland’s Railway, said: “The opening of the brand new Robroyston station is another milestone as we build the best railway Scotland’s ever had.
“Robroyston station is central to creating new low-carbon travel opportunities so that we can meet our environmental obligations. I’m proud of the team effort involved in delivering this project on time and on budget.”
Councillor Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council, said: “This is a significant milestone for Glasgow, our 60th station, the latest to be added to the network and a real statement of the success of our railways over the past two decades.
“Better connections to and from Glasgow city centre are essential for our city’s economic well-being and attracting business. This station will open up the network to even more passengers.
“It not only continues the redevelopment of the Robroyston area but connects the north-east of Glasgow to the city centre in minutes and Edinburgh in an hour, providing opportunities for an expanding local community to better access education, leisure and employment.”
