Several people were "attacked" at a GBX event in a plush Glasgow hotel in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to the Hilton on William Street just before 1am following reports of a bust-up within the premises. 

Radio Clyde breakfast DJ George Bowie was performing his GBX anthems set to Christmas parties within the hotel.

Officers have since confirmed that a man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. 

No-one was seriously injured as a result of the alleged assault - which the Scottish Sun reports were on a number of guests and a hotel security guard.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to the Glasgow Times said: "Officers were called to a premises on William Street, Glasgow, around 12.40am on Monday, after a number of people reported being assaulted.

"There were no injuries.

"A 30-year-old man was charged in connection.

"A report will submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."

A Hilton Glasgow spokesperson added: “The wellbeing and safety of our Guests and Team Members is of paramount importance to us and our security team immediately alerted the police following the incident. 

“Any further enquiries should be directed to the police."
