TWO schools have been awarded funding in the first round of grants from a trust set up in memory of a Barra teenager who was killed in the Manchester Arena attack.
The Eilidh MacLeod Memorial Trust awarded £12,000 to 13 groups involved in music.
Glasgow Gaelic School’s music department was given £500 while Govan Schools Community Pipe Band received £1000.
Iain Watson, of Glasgow’s Govan Schools and Community Pipe Band, said the cash will help “continue our work with the young pipers and extend some of our teaching hours”.
