THE community of Shawlands is enjoying a free ice rink which opened this week for the festive season.
Based in Shawlands Square, locals are invited to take to the ice between December 17 and 23.
The ice rink has been paid for by businesses in the South Side area via the My Shawlands Business Improvement District Team.
There will be skate hire and stabilisers for kids - and a giant snow globe for photo opportunities.
Shawlands historically had an ice rink in Crossmyloof until it closed in the 80s.
