TEXAS star Sharleen Spiteri has thanked her kind-hearted Glasgow fans who supported a food bank collection at the band's recent show.

The band performed at SWG3 on Sunday night and asked fans to contribute to the collection which would be donated to Glasgow food banks.

The show was to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album Southside.

The 52-year-old said: "Glasgow I love you, thank you for making Southside 30th anniversary.

"Thank you to everyone who brought food and made donations, this will help so many people and is very much appreciated."

The band released Southside in 1989. The album includes hit track I Don't Want A Lover.

They are due to play the Hydro on Saturday, October 17, next year.

The show will see Sharleen and bandmates, including Ally McErlaine, Johnny McElhone, Eddie Campbell, Tony McGovern, and Michael Bannister, play the album in its entirety plus their hit singles.

Texas is also known for songs Inner Smile, I Don't Want a Lover and Say What You Want.
