Glasgow star Michelle McManus has shared an epic throwback on the anniversary of her rise to fame.

The singer, who grew up in Baillieston, won Pop Idol 16 years ago today. 

The 39-year-old shared an picture with her 25,000 followers on Twitter, thanking them for her success.

An emotional Michelle can be seen being comforted by a young Ant and Dec on stage after being crowned winner of the talent show back in 2003.

She wrote: "16 years ago today #itsawonderfullife #thankyou #yellowfeatherearring".

We told earlier this month how the former reality TV star announced she is pregnant - with the baby due early next year.

She married husband Jeff Nimmo in Mallaig, Lochaber in 2017.

On December 10, Michelle, posted said: "On the 10th day of Christmas,‬ ‪my true love gave to me. ‪Our very own little baby. Baby Nimmo due early 2020."

The former Glasgow Times columnist recently released a Christmas album with the Soundsational choir. 

Her last album was debut The Meaning of Love which was released 15 years ago in 2004 after she won Pop Idol. That album included the number one single All This Time.
