A YOUNG Glaswegian actress will appear in the Christmas special of Call the Midwife.
Kayla Caldwell, 8, plays Isla MacLeod in the episode which will air on Christmas Day on BBC1 at 7 pm.
The schoolgirl, who lives in the city's West End, took part in filming in the Outer Hebrides at Easter.
Kayla is represented by KR Management and attends the Theatre School of Scotland in the city.
She had previously starred in a Baxters soup advert.
She is also a pupil at a Gaelic school which helped her perfect her accent for the part.

Proud mum Karen Caldwell said: "Kayla dreams of being an actress and this role is so exciting for her.
"She has had so much support throughout her whole journey and it has opened her eyes to the process and she loved every minute.
"We are so thrilled that we will see her on TV in one of Christmas day's biggest programmes especially when she has worked so hard to complete the job.
"We are so proud and would like to thank everyone involved in making our little girl's dreams come true’’
