A CHRISTMAS toy appeal received a £1,000 donation from a city restaurant.

German Doner Kebab raised funds for the toybank appeal which works in partnership with charities Scottish Womens Aid and Children 1st, who have identified 1,000 children to support this Christmas.

The charity has been accepting donations throughout December that will allow them to purchase new toys or gift vouchers for children and parents to choose a gift.

Daniel Bunce, GDK MD for UK and Europe, said: “Christmas is a time for being with family, catching up with old friends, and simply enjoying one another’s company.

“Too many families across Scotland don’t get the chance to do that or have the burden of worrying about ensuring there are presents under the tree come December 25.

“That’s why when we heard of the outstanding work that the Christmas Toybank Appeal, in conjunction with Scottish Womens Aid and Children 1st, carry out throughout the country we didn’t think twice about lending a helping hand.

“We hope that this donation of £1,000 will help put a smile on someone’s face this Christmas, giving children the presents that they had always wished for.”

The annual Toybank Appeal is organised by Glasgow Labour MSP Anas Sarwar, who has been blown away by the support from GDK.
