A man has been treated for stab wounds after being found seriously injured in the north of Glasgow.

The 41-year-old was found by police at around 9.45pm on Saturday with stab wounds in Royston Road.

He was discovered near to the rear of the Garngad pub.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he was treated for his injuries.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward to help in their investigation to establish the motive and exact circumstances.

They are currently reviewing CCTV in the area.

Detective Alistair Donaldson at Maryhill CID said: “We are still trying to establish the motive and exact circumstances surrounding this incident and are reviewing CCTV in the area.

“Anyone who was in the area of Royston Road around 9.45 pm last night and may have witnessed a disturbance of some sort is asked to contact police immediately.”
