Police are appealing for information following a serious road crash involving a pedestrian in Airdrie. 

The incident occurred at around 11.15am on Tuesday the 31st December 2019, on Mavisbank Street at the junction with North Bridge Street. 

A black Ford Tourneo Custom struck a 57-year-old female, causing her serious injuries.

Emergency services attended the scene and the woman was taken to University Hospital Monklands where she was treated for her injuries.

Sergeant Craig McDonald of Motherwell Road Policing, said: 
“This incident happened on a busy road and we are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward with information."

“A woman has sustained serious injuries as a result of this crash and we are investigating the full circumstances surrounding this.

“We would ask that if anyone has any information or dashcam footage to get in contact with police.”
