A WOMAN has said she was beaten up by a man while she was walking her dog at the Clyde Walkway in Glasgow. 

The victim claims that her puppy stole the attacker's dog's ball prompting the serious assault on Thursday morning.

In a post to warn others on Facebook, the woman claimed that she was repeatedly kicked on the head and face. She then fell to the ground where it is claimed the man kicked her. 

It is also claimed that the man threw the woman's phone into the River Clyde.

The woman shared an image of her injuries following the serious assault which has since gone viral on Facebook with thousands of shares and comments. 

She said: "This man was extremely aggressive and violent all because my puppy stole his dog's ball.

"He was about 5 ft 10 inches, wearing a beanie hat, a green running jacket, and running tights.

"His dog was a young border collie. He also threw my phone into the Clyde when I tried to call for help."

She added: "This is just to make people who use this walkway aware of this person and to be guarded."

The Clyde Walkway is 40 miles long and runs between Partick in Glasgow and New Lanark in South Lanarkshire. The woman did not reveal the location of the assault on the path.

Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the assault.

The force, however, provided no description of the suspect.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We received a report of an assault on Clyde Walkway, Glasgow, around 10.30 am on Thursday, January 9.

"Enquiries are ongoing.

"If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact us on 101 quoting incident number 0925 of 9 January or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
