A stretch of Hope Street has been blocked off between Argyle Street and Waterloo Street due to "falling debris" from a hotel.
The debris is reported to have fallen from Yotel hotel.
The council has warned drivers to expect congestions and delays in the area.
Earlier in the day road closure were also caused due to a pro-independence march organised by All Under One Banner.

Emergency services were rushed to the site and are currently in attendance.
A Glasgow City Council statement reads: "Hope Street is currently closed to all traffic between Argyle Street and Waterloo Street due to falling debris from the Yotel hotel.
"Emergency services are currently on site and road users should expect congestion on surrounding streets."
A number of disturbances have occurred across Glasgow today as the city is battered with heavy rain.
