Hearts have been dealt a transfer blow after Wolfsburg's youth director issued a hands-off warning over Charles-Jesaja Herrmann.
Daniel Stendel had been keen to bring the 19-year-old to Tynecastle.
The German has been an admirer of Herrmann since his time at Barnsley where he even tried to sign the player twice.
Hearts make offer for Wolfsburg striker Charles-Jesaja Herrmann as Daniel Stendel rekindles interest
But despite concrete interest from Hearts - and an official approach being made - sporting director of Wolfsburg's youngsters, Pablo Thiam, insisted Herrmann will be going nowhere.
"We will not give up any players in this period, we need him."
Wolfsburg II have only three fit strikers which is believed to be the main reason for Herrmann staying put.
