Lewis Capaldi has joked he'd like a cut of Paige Turley's Love Island prize money if she takes home the title.

The Scottish singer broke the silence over his ex entering the winter house, saying that he didn't have any warning that Paige would be entering the show but wished the 22 year-old "good luck".

Speaking with New Zealand TV, Capaldi said: "The prize is like £50,000 and I'll be like... Well, listen. They asked you to go on it right I'm not saying I'm the reason but also… slide me two grand."

He continued: "She never told me she was going on it. That would have been a nice heads up."

"But fair play and good luck to her."

"I'll be f***ing watching it - like go on Paige, come on."

"When she's on a date with a boy I'll be like come on kiss him. I hope she wins."

The couple dated for a year when he was 19 after they met at Motherwell college.

Paige's partner Ollie Williams left the series last night, claiming he still had feelings for somebody outside the villa.

He said: "I still love someone else. I have to follow my heart and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings. If I carried on anything with Paige, or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn't be fair on them".

Ollie received a backlash from the public on social media this week as pictures emerged of him posing with dead animals in Africa, allegedly to promote his hunting business.
