THE first pictures have been unveiled of the new Monklands, dubbed Scotland’s first digital hospital.

NHS Lanarkshire say patients will have access to the “most modern healthcare’ due to huge advances in digital technology.

Three sites are being considered for the new build; Gartcosh, Glenmavis and Wester Moffat.

Glasgow Times:

Dr Jim Ruddy, who is leading the project, said: “Lanarkshire’s patients becoming older and increasingly suffering from a number of complex conditions.

“A hospital built with digital technology at its core will free up clinicians’ time, allowing even more time to be spent looking after patients.”
