TEACHERS in Glasgow were attacked almost 1000 times last year, according to new figures.
Since 2016, staff in Glasgow have faced 2851 instances of violence in schools.
The statistics, revealed by the Scottish LibDems, show that 974 attacks were carried out on teachers last year.

The 2018/19 figure is down 7% on 2016/17, but shows an increase on 2017/18 when just 831 such attacks took place.
The number includes assaults on teachers by parents, pupils, colleagues and other members of the public.
Across Scotland, almost 30,000 attacks on teachers have occurred in the past three years, up by 37%.
