A 35-year-old man who crashed into a car after overtaking an ambulance has had six penalty points placed on his driving licence.
Lukasz Lubicki, of Hillend Drive in Hawick, also pleaded guilty at Selkirk Sheriff Court to driving with no insurance.
Depute fiscal Fiona Hamilton explained the incident happened in Selkirk's Ettrick Terrace on September 23 when the street was busy due to a sheriff court sitting.
She said: "The accused overtook an ambulance outside the court and when he came back into his own carriageway he collided with a parked vehicle.
"There was a loud noise from the impact."
Defence lawyer Stephanie Clinkscale described the offence as a "loss of concentration".
The self-employed handyman was fined £120 for careless driving and another £120 for no insurance.
