A woman has been left needing hospital treatment after a "disturbance" in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency crews descended on a property on West Nile Street shortly before 3pm this afternoon following reports of an incident.

Images shared on social media show at least two police vans and the same number of ambulances near to the back entrance of the H&M store.

Police say a man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called at around 2.50pm to reports of a disturbance at a property on West Nile Street in Glasgow.

"A woman was taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

"A man has been arrested in connection with the incident".

There are no further details on the woman's injuries, however they are not thought to be life-threatening.
