Proposals have been put forward to transform the former Fopp building on Byres Road into an Asian inspired restaurant - Ting Thai Caravan.
Ting Thai, which recently launched a third Edinburgh restaurant in Lothian Road puts their success down to authentic Thai cooking from a family-run background.
Fopp closed its doors for the last time in January as a result of HMV store closures across the country.
The Ting Thai team speak of what they hope to bring to Glasgow: “We’re excited about the benefits of what this could bring to Byres Road, including an increased footfall for all businesses in the area; creating over 30 jobs including apprenticeships.
"We are working closely with local authorities and hope shortly to receive their support’.
"Ting Thai’s philosophy is taken from street food with its authentic flavours, vibrant atmosphere, keep it cheap and an energising part to your day or night."
Ting Thai are expecting to hear back from the local authorities by mid February.
