Storm Ciara is sweeping across the UK, with heavy rain and severe gales disrupting flights, trains and ferries.
Met Office weather warnings are in force, with gusts of more than 80mph battering parts of the country as forecasters warned flying debris could lead to injuries or endanger lives.
Flights at Glasgow Airport have been cancelled as a result, while rail companies across the UK have urged passengers not to travel and say they will operate reduced timetables and speed restrictions.
Last night, an Emirates flight from Dubai had to divert to Manchester after several failed attempts to land in Glasgow during the difficult conditions.

Drivers were warned they face treacherous conditions with reports of fallen trees and other debris blocking roads
And the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued a flood alert for West Central Scotland.
ScotRail says services between Scotland's two biggest cities are also subject to delays.
And Edinburgh Waverley station is now closed to new customers due to overcrowding.

They wrote on Twitter: "Travelling between Edinburgh & Glasgow? We're seeing disruption on routes to/from Glasgow Queen Street due to signal faults in several locations and a speed restriction in the Blairhill area too.
"Services are running, but they will be delayed."
The Erskine Bridge is also closed to high-sided vehicles.
That comes as Storm Ciara flooding in several areas across the central belt has resulting in signalling faults along the line.
Met Office meteorologist Helen Roberts said "quite exceptional" gusts of between 60 and 70mph would be seen in inland areas, with the worst of the weather likely to hit before 6pm, although warnings are in place until 9pm.
She said: "As well as the strength of the wind there is the rain to come today.
"It is likely we will see further impact from the wind such as falling debris, roof tiles coming off, branches and trees down, with disruption to travel as well."

Storm Ciara has also had a knock-on effect with power, with some areas experiencing outages.
The postcodes in Glasgow impacted by 12noon are: G523NQ, G537FY, G537FZ, G537GA, G537GB, G537GN, G537GX, G537HY, G537TA.
And G115HQ, G128PW, G128TB, G128TD.
On the ferry's, CalMac previously issued a warning ahead of the "extremely problematic" weekend.
They're expecting disruption across all of their routes and have urged customers to sign up for alerts via calmac.co.uk
Transport Secretary Michael Matheson said: “The Met Office is telling us that we are facing a prolonged period of adverse weather, with Storm Ciara bringing strong winds and rain to most of Scotland this weekend.
“We’re also being told to expect snow and high winds throughout Monday and on Tuesday morning, so there is the potential for significant disruption on the trunk road network, as well as other modes of transport.
“It’s important that people check the latest information before they set off, drive to the conditions and follow Police Scotland travel advice.”

In sports news, both Celtic's Scottish Cup clash at Clyde and BSC's exciting match with Hibs are both still set to go-ahead.
However Scotland Women's rugby match with England at the home of Glasgow Warriors has been cancelled.
They posted on Twitter: "Due to extreme weather today’s match between Scotland Women & England Women at Scotstoun has been postponed.
"Safety of travelling fans, players and venue staff was the priority. Discussions are underway around rescheduling the game."
And it doesn't look like the weather will clear up any time soon, with Met Office warnings lasting until Wednesday
Strong guests are expected to continue tomorrow, with heavy snow and ice also predicted to his Glasgow and the rest of Scotland.
The forecaster is warning of potential injuries due to falls on icy surfaces as well as further travel delays.
