'Vulnerable' 21-year-old Nathan Murphy has been missing from his home in Kilwinning since Monday, 3 February.
It is believed he has links to the Dalmarnock and Polmadie areas of Glasgow.
The 21-year-old's friends and family are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and say it is out of his character for him not to be in contact with them for a long period of time.
Nathan is described as white and of very slim build with dark hair and a goatee beard.
Inspector Raymond Ferguson at Irvine Police Office said: “Nathan has been feeling low lately, and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety and wellbeing.
“Officers are currently carrying out enquiries and searches in the local area to trace Nathan and I would urge anyone who has seen him, or who has information on his whereabouts to contact Irvine Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 1040 of Wednesday 12 February 2020.”
UPDATE: Police have confirmed that Nathan has been traced and is safe and well.
