TRNSMT has announced a raft of new performers today for the big bash in July.

After announcing headliners Ian Brown, Lewis Capaldi, Liam Gallagher and more in November last year, TRNSMT has now confirmed some more exciting new acts ready to rock Glasgow Green this summer.

Local hero Amy McDonald brings her bittersweet singer-songwriter act to Glasgow Green on the final night of the festival, setting the mood for Lewis Capaldi's closing set.

Scottish acts rule the roost on Sunday, with East End boy Joesef also performing on the closing night, for his first time at the festival.

Declan Welsh spoke about his excitement for his homecoming Saturday slot: “I’m buzzing for TRNSMT. I grew up 5 minutes away from Glasgow Green now I’m playing there. Mad. If the King Tuts show is anything to go by, the Tuts stage will be bouncing.”

Glasgow bands are making their mark on the festival too, with The Ninth Wave bringing their brand of noise pop to the park on Friday, fresh off a tour of Europe and the USA.

Glasgow's own Spyres were only formed at the beginning of last year and in June will play a Saturday slot on the Green. They said playing the festival was a "huge deal" for them.

Hot off the release of their debut album, Saint PHNX said they were "buzzing to be added to the bill of [their] hometown festival".

Rising local favourites, Gallus will get things swinging for the opening night's headliners Courteeners and Ian Brown.

The Ladbroke Grove rapper, AJ Tracey will share Saturday's stage with Foals, Keane, Twin Atlantic and Liam Gallagher and local lads Rascalton are getting things going early on.

For those who never fully got over an emo phase, American legends Jimmy Eat World's Saturday show will bring back memories of life behind a swept fringe and hanging about Glasgow Central.

Glasgow Times:

Between July 10-12, around 150,000 fans will descend on Glasgow Green for the city's biggest musical weekend.
