Thieves stole a kit bag from an ambulance while paramedics dealt with a patient.

Emergency services responded to a call in Port Glasgow at 11.50pm on Friday night, our sister paper the Greenock Telegraph reports. 

As they attended to a patient inside a house on Barra Way, the bag was taken from the ambulance. 

It is understood to have contained drugs and medication equipment.

Sergeant Jo Henderson, of Greenock Police, said: "The ambulance crew attended a call at Barra Way, Port Glasgow, at 11.50pm and a bag was taken out the back of an ambulance.

"We understand drugs and medication equipment were in the bag. Anyone with information in relation to this incident should call Greenock Police on 101.”
