Police are hunting for thugs who started a car fire officers believe could have spread to nearby houses.
Lanarkshire Police Division is asking anyone who saw "people hanging about the cars or the back of the houses" on Inchwood Road in Cumbernauld on Sunday night.
Callous firebugs set fire to a grey Hyundai Tuscan in the suburb north of Glasgow last night.
