IT is dubbed the funniest night in fundraising.

Epilepsy Scotland’s fourth annual Patter Merchants Comedy Clash takes place on Friday, March 13 at the Argyle Street Arches.

The event is hosted once again by Heart radio and BBC Scotland Breaking the News presenter Des Clarke.

Four hilarious local comics – Ashley Storrie, Darren Connell, Raymond Mearns and Jamie Dalgleish – will join Des.

Des said: "It’s an honour once again to be part of Epilepsy Scotland’s Patter Merchants.

"This is the night where anything goes, all in the name of comedy and charity.

"I have the pleasure of hosting some of Scotland’s top comedy talent onto the stage.

"Our aim is to have the audience in stitches and help raise lots of money for an amazing cause. I can’t wait."

There will be a drinks reception, a three course meal and raffle prizes including a Loch Lomond Seaplane tour, a signed snooker cue by six-time World Champion Steve Davis and two tickets to Simple Minds at the SSE Hydro in April, plus much more.

Robyn Friel, Head of Fundraising & Communications at Epilepsy Scotland, said: "The Patter Merchants Comedy Clash is always a fantastic night and is one of the highlights of our events calendar.

"We are delighted that Des Clarke will join us as our host once again and are thrilled to have some of Scotland’s funniest comics who will keep our audience entertained.

"We are hoping to beat the total raised last year to help us keep up with demand for our services, so we have some great auction prizes up for grabs.

"The night is the perfect opportunity to entertain clients, socialise with colleagues or just enjoy with friends."
