DOES the council not realise the golf courses do not belong to them but the people of Glasgow.
Most of the parks were given to the people years ago to enjoy by wealthy people. The council has no legal rights over them. It’s time the council realised they work for us. Come next elections, alot of them won’t have a job.

I’M GLAD to hear about Andell’s Restaurant earning an award as the Savoy Centre has not been looking its best in recent years but hopefully the reporting of
this award will attract more customers, both old and new, to the Centre (Glasgow Times, Wednesday).

STUDENTS are furious that lecturers, librarians and technicians at 74 UK institutions will walk out for two weeks over pay and conditions since they fear it will harm their graduation prospects.
This is the third walkout in less than two years and will affect a million students. The University and College Union (UCU) claims that pension changes will leave members up to £10,000 worse off.
The majority of pensioners in Britain do not even get a works pension of £10,000.
These UCU members are funded by the taxpayers so why should they get better pensions than private sector employees.
Final salary schemes, are unaffordable and there are very few left in the private sector. So unless UCU are willing to agree to increase their members’ pension contributions the final salary scheme should be closed and a new defined contributions scheme introduced.

JUST think of all the lost revenue from parking (Here’s how to give your views on Glasgow’s Low Emission Zone plans, Wednesday).
And the council has just raised the charges and also introduced Sunday parking too.

I DON’T see the ‘platpoints’ plan for donations to people on the street begging working (Glasgow Times, Wednesday).
I just can’t imagine people will donate money as they walk on streets in Glasgow. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong.
