Rangers icon Nacho Novo has announced he will be stepping down from his Glasgow bar - and plans to get back into football.

The NN10 boozer on Paisley Road will now be run by his business partner John Campell - but under the new name of 3 Cheers.

The bar is a favourite among Rangers fans - with Novo promising to still visit the bar when he can.

Sharing the news on social media, the Ibrox legend - who also played for Raith Rovers and Dundee, revealed plans to get into football coaching.

He wrote:  “3 CHEERS FOR NN10

"I have decided the licence trade is not for me.

"In the circumstances I have left “ NN10” now rebranded “3 CHEERS “ and will be devoting my time to what I know best ... Football, this time in a coaching capacity.

"I wish JC, the team and of course the customers at the bar and lounge my sincere best wishes for the future with “ 3 CHEERS “ The Rangers Supporters Bar & Lounge!

"I plan to drop into “3 CHEERS “ whenever I can to keep in touch with JC, staff and loyal customers.

"So it’s '3 CHEERS' for '3 CHEERS' - Nacho."

Almost 2000 fans had 'liked' the Instagram post within an hour, sharing their support of his new ventures.

One wrote: My boys loved meeting you in the bar - as did my hubby’s family when they were up visiting from London. Wishing you all the best!"

Another said: "Good luck with the coaching. You'll be a great mentor".

A third wrote: "Good luck on the new venture Nacho, whatever it may be."
