Three people appeared in court charged with human trafficking on Friday.

Donglin Zhang, 46, Vlassis Ntaoulias, 30, and Jiang Guang Yang, 59, are accused of arranging the transfer of a woman to carry out forced unpaid domestic labour between September 1 2018 and February 13 2020.

Prosecutors claim the trio drove the woman from Edinburgh Airport to a flat in Glasgow's Oswald Street where she was given "accommodation."

It is alleged the woman was "exploited by means of a person exercising control, direction or influence over the prostitution of her in a way which showed the person was aiding, abetting or compelling the prostitution."

The trio are also accused of recruiting another woman by offering to find her employment and provide her with accommodation in Glasgow's Albion Street.

The woman is alleged to have also been involved in prostitution.

It is claimed the trio ran brothels from the flat in Oswald Street, Glasgow's Trongate and Springburn areas between January 1 2018 and February 13 2020.

Zhang, Ntaoulias and Yang made no plea yesterday at a hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court.
