I WAS watching the debate about the problems in our Scottish NHS on the Parliament channel.

All I heard was Labour and the Tories blame the SNP, and the SNP do the usual – bluster their way through. But no matter what your politics are, I think it is time for a change.

I think it is time for the Labour and Tory parties and to a certain extent the SNP to recognise that we the people are sick and tired of them using our National Health Service as a political football. Take it out of party politics, get the people experienced in running a big organisation in to run our NHS, people who are going to concentrate on running our NHS and not pampering to the egos of politicians. We need our hospitals working together and I mean in the whole of the UK.

Surely all these politicians of all parties could come together and see that our NHS needs leadership? After all, I can remember the politicians all came together when their expenses scams were uncovered.

WHO is Local Government Minister Kevin Stewart (right) kidding? He states (February 20) that councillors’ salaries will increase to help in the recruitment of new councillors.

At 85 years old I have always been under the impression that such vacancies were “jobs for the boys/girls”.

However, I will stand corrected on this if Mr Stewart can tell

me when a vacancy for a

councillor was last advertised in the press?

I AM appalled at the city council charging a 4.64 per cent rise in council tax, it is actually higher than my rent, that is in the process of a 2.30% rise – it is ridiculous, how are we supposed to live?

I hope Sturgeon reads this and still says she is for Scotland, because this is bad news for all. And do you really think we can go it alone with rising bills and no rise in wages? I work in the NHS and we have a three per cent wage rise over three years – I mean, come on.

THE closure of Blairvadoch, announced by Glasgow City Council, together with the other bizarre announcements such as charging for bulk uplifts and raising council tax, are not what I and many others voted for.

Hitting disadvantaged kids and making the already grim Glasgow environment worse while expecting us to pay more is a major step backwards. Think they have just signed their own demise at the next election.
