BRAGA skipper Fransergio praised Rangers after admitting they blew their chances against Steven Gerrard's men in their Europa League defeat.

The in-form Portuguese outfit were favourites to qualify for the last 16, but lost home and away to Steven Gerrard's side.

They were 2-0 up in the first leg at Ibrox, before collapsing and losing 3-2 and Fransergio admitted that's where they lost the tie.

He said: "We had the opportunities to settle the tie at Ibrox. We missed several glaring chances and they came back to haunt us.

"If we had taken those chances, the second leg would almost have been over before it kicked off.

Glasgow Times:

"We are going out of this competition with a feeling of profound injustice.

"You have to give Rangers a lot of credit. They scored a good goal and we couldn't break them down because they defended excellently.

"We have to be proud of our campaign. We qualified from a difficult section in the group stages with an impeccable campaign and we had a great season in Europe.

"During this season, we have played many quality teams in this competition, including Rangers there and we have really enjoyed it. Now we have to concentrate on the rest of the league campaign."
